Terms, Conditions and Privacy

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the podus.ng platform (the "Service") operated by Citizens’ Gavel Foundation for Social Justice.
Your access to and use of the service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these terms. These terms apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Service. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service.
The information and data provided by users will be made available to our lawyers. Willing lawyers are expected to read the information and get in touch upon the information. Sensitive information is advised not to be provided until a particular lawyer is assigned to you.
Private Legal Practitioners
Podus will NOT replace your need to hire a lawyer but the lawyer deployed (in the event of a dispatch of a lawyer) through podus is ONLY an independent counsel whose role is solely to ascertain and/or prevent human rights infringement. His interest is to uphold human rights.
General Use of Information:
If you wish to use podus, you may be asked to supply certain information relevant to yourself, the person you are soliciting for or the defendant. This information may include personal details and pictures of the person you are soliciting the service for. This person’s pictures and information can be used to engage the public with a view to support the person/ inform the public as to the status of the case or for general media publication. If pictures and information are to be shared with media, such pictures are blurred and the names changed. Also, with the view to promote gavel’s activities and provide awareness as regards our activities, we have the right to use the information and pictures provided to promote gavel and promote research. As much as we will love to provide free legal services (access to justice) to our users/less privileged, we are not obligated to provide same for all interested users.
Our Service allows users and our company to you to publish, post, link, share and otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, videos, or other material ("Content"). We try as much as possible to verify the authenticity of these contents, however, our company shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content. Podus/Gavel can decided to withdraw his services at any point in the course of the service.
Links to other web sites
Our Service may contain links to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by our company Our Company has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that our company shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such web sites or services.
Our lawyers and people volunteering with podus/gavel are responsible people, however, in the event of abuse, please, promptly report such person through the platform or email hello@gavel.ng. Podus/Gavel will not be responsible or vicariously liable for abuses caused by these volunteer lawyers, however, we can help suspend them or blacklist them from the platform. If the abuse is question is not incompatible with conduct of a lawyer, podus/gavel may forward such to Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Council.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
